The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery with battery which occurred on Tuesday, December 15th at around 8:15 pm, near Main Street and Canal Avenue in Lakeland.

The victim told detectives that he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk when a light grey or white SUV passed him and stopped. He said that man got out of the car and knocked him down on the ground.

At that time, according to the victim, the suspect pointed a handgun and took a camera from the man. He then kicked the victim’s lower leg causing injury.

The suspect got back into the car and fled the area.

The suspect was described as a white male, between 25-30 years old, about 5’11”, with a medium build.
