Business Theft: Hwy 92 East (Lakeland)

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft that occurred on Highway 92 East (near Combee Road) in Lakeland on September 8th.
Despite riding his bike past the business trucks two days in a row, the suspect was obviously ill-prepared for the crime. On his second visit, he stole two batteries from the truck. The batteries aren’t light, and hauling away two vehicle batteries on a bicycle is no easy feat. He actually had to leave one battery behind while riding off with the other, and then returned about 20 minutes later for the other one.

Just before 1 am on Thursday, April 2nd, a PCSO deputy on State Road 60 in Winter Haven witnessed a gray Kia SUV traveling in his direction at a high rate of speed.
The speed of the car was measured to be 106 mph in a 55 mph zone.
