On Thursday, June 18, 2026, PCSO deputies were dispatched to the K-Ville area on County Road 542, due to a reported armed disturbance.

It was reported that two men got into an argument, and one of the men allegedly pulled a handgun out and began threatening the other man.

Deputies arrived on scene and learned that the armed man was 54-year-old Daniel Chester McCall of Lakeland.

McCall admitted to arming himself with a gun, but he told the deputies that he had already disposed of it in a nearby dumpster, and someone he didn’t know took it out. He also claimed that it was only a water gun, since he is a convicted felon and he is not allowed to possess a firearm.

A check of McCall's background showed that he has been convicted for four felonies.

During a search of McCall's residence, a detective found a 9mm handgun and ammunition was also found.

Deputies additionally found a glass pipe, methamphetamine, pills (acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride), cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana.

Daniel McCall was arrested and taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with: Armed Trafficking in Methamphetamine over 200 grams (FL), Displaying a Firearm During a Felony Offense (F2), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F2), Possess a Structure to Sell Drugs (F2), Possess Cocaine with Intent to Sell (F2), Possession of Oxycodone (F3), Possession of Fentanyl (F3), Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon without Intent to Kill (F3), False Information to LEO in a Felony Offense (M1), Possession of Marijuana (M1), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M1).
